Nottingham Midland Shed
With the city of Nottingham's terraces forming the backdrop, Stanier 2-6-2T no 40165 stands alongside a converted tender in use as a sludge carrier at 16A's water softening plant. The photograph is thought to have been taken around 1961, the year the locomotive was withdrawn from nearby Kirkby in Ashfield shed.
