Knottingley

Class 56 No. 56078 runs light engine westwards through Knottingley, heading from the depot that lies immediately to the east of the station. In the background a Pacer that had arrived on a terminating service from Leeds via Castleford waits to drop back into the platform for the return trip. 56078 was taken out of service in May 2007 but after a long period of storage was returned to the main line with Colas in 2014 hauling Chirk bound log trains.
