The Edinburgh-Glasgow push-pull sets were normally sandwiched between two class 27 BRCW Type 2s. On this occasion however class 25s are the traction on an Edinburgh bound service heading passed Cowlairs East Junction. The locomotives are 7581 leading and 7590 on the rear. The photograph was taken from the former Caledonian Railway viaduct that spanned the E&G line at the north end of Eastfield shed see image 9082.
