The Windermere winter timetable of 1964 shows a meagre seven departures (nine down trains) with some very long gaps between services. Sunday was even worse with the two trains shown only operating for two weeks and then it was a Ribble bus or nothing. In 2010 the branch enjoys an hourly service on weekdays (seventeen trains in total)and on Sundays there are fourteen departures.
