An NBL Type 2 shunts Arbroath goods yard in 1969. A St Rollox driver was once asked What's the best thing about these NBL Type 2s? To which he replied without hesitation The fire extinguisher - I use it more often than the throttle. This no doubt referred to the examples which were not re-engined.
