Aviemore

The Speyside Express railtour from Edinburgh to Boat of Garten on 07 April 1973 is seen on the outer face of the island platform at Aviemore whilst operating one of the three return trips to Boat of Garten. While today's trains on the Strathspey Railway operate from this platform, at that time the DMU had to first run into the headshunt at the south end of the station in order to access the original route north to Inverness via the line to the right of the train.
