Saughton

Saughton is now better known for its junction, though in fact it hasn't been a physical junction for about 40 years see image 1251 and is instead simply a divergance of the Glasgow and Fife lines. Until 1920 it had a station. It was a rural location right up to closure, though soon after that the area became suburbanised, mainly with public housing.  On 10 October 2009 however, if you try and ignore everything made of metal, there's still a country lane look around the former goods entrance. Note the bollards to prevent cartwheels demolising the wall.
