Glen Douglas Halt

Spot the train! High above Loch Long a Sprinter is about to turn inland to run through Glen Douglas. This photograph illustrates the height gained by trains heading south from Arrochar and Tarbet. By comparison the A814 road runs along the shoreline. When the line was built materials were delivered by puffer to the shoreline and taken up by aerial ropeways. View from the west side of the loch.
