Dundee Tay Bridge MPD

View south across the yard at 62B Tay Bridge shed towards the river around 1965, with A2 Pacific no 60530 Sayajirao on shed. 60530 spent her last two years here as a Dundee standby locomotive before withdrawal in November 1966. The shed was closed in 1967 and demolished in 1969. The building visible through the haze with the large roof vents made way for subsequent retail developments, (including Tesco), that now stand on Riverside Drive. [Editors note: As a young enthusiast this was, without doubt, the most widely mis-spelt and mispronounced name carried by any locomotive, with the majority of my fellow likely-lads settling for the cheery, if slightly mischievous, Sir Jerry... Oh!]
