Leith North

McIntosh 3F no 57550 of 64C Dalry Road shed stands at the CR Leith North station on 3 February 1962 with the Peebles Railtour. The station, opened as Leith in 1879, became North Leith in 1903, then Leith North in 1952, the name it held when it finally closed in April 1962, some 2 months after the photograph was taken. All has since been transformed here, with much of the area given over to new roads, housing and retail units and with the large Ocean Terminal development located off to the left. Note also the view on the right looking east along Lindsay Road, with traffic consisting of a bus, two cars (parked) and a bike!
