Greenock West
The 0923 Gourock - Glasgow Central emerges from the 1.2 mile Newton Street tunnel into Greenock West station on 29 July 2007. Forming part of the 1889 Gourock Extension, the country's longest tunnel runs below Newton Street and beyond, to emerge just east of Fort Matilda station on the western edge of Greenock.
