Rochefort
Similar in operation to, but 11 years older than, its Middlesbrough counterpart See image 59948 this is Rochefort transporter bridge over the River Charente. Built in 1900 it has been replaced by a motorway viaduct in recent years but still operated by the local government region as a preserved industrial monument.
