Pelton [2nd]
BR Standard Class 9F no 92064, carrying a 52H, Tyne Dock, shedplate, photographed near Pelton in the 1960s en route to Consett steel works with a trainload of imported iron ore. The train has recently picked up a banking locomotive at South Pelaw. Note the Westinghouse pumps for operating the hopper doors, fitted to all ten of the 9Fs based at Tyne Dock.
