Lostock Hall
With the slow lines south of Preston closed for track renewals, services to and from York/Leeds and Blackpool were diverted via Farington Junction during the evening of 13 June and the morning of 14 June. A Blackpool bound 158752 is seen having just left the East Lancs lines at Lostock Hall Junction on 14 June 2009. Once it reaches the WCML at Farington Junction it will have to reverse in order to reach Preston via the Down Fast line. Note the building to the right of the photograph - considering how close the location is to the WCML some might find it a little surprising that The Railway public house sign features an LNER A4 in garter blue!
