Huncoat

The former Huncoat Colliery access bridge, just beyond Huncoat's platforms, sees two Pacers cross while rostered on East Lancs line services. In my early years, until 1964, I lived opposite the colliery entrance and remember WD 2-8-0s clanking under this bridge on coal trains and NCB liveried AEC 8 wheel lorries growling over it loaded with coal.
