Carlisle
Looking north along platform 7 at Carlisle with 156505 'Not to be Moved' as it was being 'watered' prior to a journey to Glasgow Central via Dumfries. Not long after departure from Carlisle and with the automatic train announcements reeling off the stations along the route, something happened as we approached the border as the announcements suddenly changed and we were advised that the service was going to Glasgow Queen Street and that we would be calling at Haymarket, Linlithgow, Polmont....... Needless to say this was promptly corrected by our slightly bemused train manager, who had started checking tickets, before we arrived at Gretna Green.
