Hest Bank
Only two passenger trains a day traverse the Bare Lane to Hest Bank chord - the 0551 and the 1620 from Morecambe. No contest then for which one to photograph! 142050 rejoins the mainline at Hest Bank on its way to Leeds via Skipton. Hest Bank station's down platform used to occupy this area but after closure in 1969 the platforms were removed and the chord extended to near the level crossing.
