Caton

Caton station closed in 1960, six years before the line itself, and this picture is of the site, looking towards Hornby. The extended station house can be seen although the platforms have been removed. The goods shed (now a church - see picture 20472) is just beyond the former level crossing where a stone wall has now been built across the trackbed. The cycle path skirts the trees on the left at this point before rejoining the old line towards Claughton.
