Lenwade

In the late 1970s, the former Midland and Great Northern station at Lenwade had a regular passenger service, albeit one visit a year from a succession of special excursions. This is the 1978 trip, in the form of a Birmingham/Cravens DMU chartered by the Aylsham and District Railway Action Committee. Despite the heroic local efforts, the line from Lenwade to Wroxham was closed and dismantled in the early 1980s. The station building survives, sensitively restored as a private family house.
