Having turned south west onto the Carstairs line at Haymarket East Junction, 47706 Strathclyde is about to cross the bridge over the sub at the east end of Slateford Yard on 20 May 1981 with the 1305 Edinburgh - Bristol. The tenements of Shandon Crescent stand in the background.
