View east from Craig Street bridge, Airdrie on Boxing Day 2008, looking along the line towards Drumgelloch (and eventually to Bathgate and Edinburgh) with the bay platform and stabling siding to the right both occupied. Airdrie will become a three platform station once again when the old eastbound platform, on which the former signal box still stands, is eventually rebuilt. New lifts, stairs and a footbridge will also be installed. Further increases in car parking at Airdrie are currently under discussion between Transport Scotland and First ScotRail. See image 27740
