Isfield

Looking north over the level crossing in Station Road, Isfield, Sussex in 1974. The view is towards Uckfield, to where the line was cut back in 1969, resulting in the closure of Isfield station. On a brighter note the site is now the HQ of The Lavender Line preservation group, while there is growing pressure for the reopening of the through route between Uckfield and Lewes.
