Longton Bridge
Looking north towards the village of Longton beyond the bridge abutments marking the site of Longton Bridge station, closed in 1964 with the rest of the Preston to Southport line. The right hand (eastern) abutment has been reduced in height as a small housing development now stands beyond. Since the station platforms extended over the now-demolished bridge this is effectively a view of the former station site. Map Ref SD 478253.
