IBM

A Big Blue sign on the Inverclyde line on 1 November 2008. The station was originally opened as IBM Halt on 9 May 1978 for use by those employed at the IBM manufacturing plant in Spango Valley, Greenock. Nowadays the site is shared with other companies and IBM is no longer directly involved in manufacturing. Current IBM activities here include the provision of 24 hour multilingual worldwide customer contact/support services and related e-business. While the station now appears in public timetables it is still intended for use by those working within the compound.
