Bridlington

A Northern 158 waits in bay platform 6 at Bridlington on 1 October where it will form the 1010 service to Hull and Sheffield. Once a busy seaside excursion station, Bridlington boasted 8 platforms in its heyday. The 1970s housing beyond the fence on the far right of the picture stands on the site of the original platforms 1-3, while the former excursion platforms 7&8 (located to the left of the train) were taken out of use prior to resignalling work in 2000. In addition to the bay, the 2 remaining operational platforms (4&5) can be seen on the right.
