Deepdale Junction
40003 stands at the Deepdale Junction level crossing ready to traverse the link through Miley Tunnel to the WCML at Preston around 1980. As the train comprises 20T hopper wagons these will be empties from the nearby Deepdale Coal Concentration Depot as 16T mineral wagons were used to supply the Red Scar Courtaulds works near Ribbleton. View towards Ribbleton and Longridge. The line lasted a further fourteen years before full closure. See image 35742 for the same location in 2011.
