Ribble Junction (WLR)
Few traces remain of the West Lancashire Railway around Preston but these bridge piers, which carried their last train in 1965, look as if they will be around a while. On the far, Preston, side of the river the line turned west for a short run into Preston Fishergate Hill station. This closed to passengers in 1900 and goods in 1965 and the site has been built over.
