Scarborough

Looking back from a short distance along platform 1 towards the buffer stops at Scarborough on 3 April 2008. The clock tower stands above the main station buildings on Westborough Road in the left background, with trainsheds past and present running off to the right. Nowadays the external bay platforms 1 and 2, nearest the camera, supplement the stations main operational platforms 3, 4 and 5 contained within the remaining trainshed. Standing at platform 4 within the trainshed on this particular morning is a First TransPennine 185 DMU service ready to depart for York, Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street.
