Leyland
The now sole surviving Class 81, preserved 81002 (E3003), has just taken over this mixed freight at Farington Junction and is on the Up Slow approaching Leyland in January 1981. The train will have been diesel hauled via the S & C to the junction with the WCML where this early AC electric took charge.
