Gateshead MPD
The evening sun sets on the old ash heaps at Gateshead shed in 1981 and on the various class 40 locomotives lined up there. In the front row left to right stand 40152, 40029 (which once carried the name Saxonia) and 40003 (the first of this particular group to be withdrawn - in September the following year).
