Scotland Street

View southeast showing the bricked up entrance to Scotland Street tunnel on 25 April 2007. The tunnel opened in 1847 allowing trains to be rope hauled under the New Town from the terminus at Canal Street (now part of the Waverley station site). The tunnel was closed in 1868.
