East Grinstead

The rebuilt entrance to the former low level station at East Grinstead, completed in December 2012 but not officially opened until 8th March 2013, concurrently with the reopening of the Bluebell Railway to the town, seen here on the morning of Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May 2013. Nothing now remains of the former high level station that was on the cross-country route from Three Bridges to Groombridge and which closed on 2nd January 1967, thereby severing the direct rail service between the important towns of East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells.
