Here it meets the Rochers de Naye rack railway, which can also be seen climbing across the hillside from the viaduct on the left of the picture. Alongside the two-car unit is rack locomotive No. 2, dating from 1909 but rebodied <I>old style</I> in 1986. ![<I>Not the most handsome of locomotives (but it has character)</I>. This is MTGN No.4, a diesel used for maintenance trains on the Rochers de Naye electric cog railway. Originally built by Brienz in 1973 it arrived on this line in 1996 but was rebuilt in their workshops in 2009, re-engined and fitted with a larger bonnet. It is seen stabled at Glion station, near the line's maintenance depot, alongside railcar 207, dating from 1949. <br><br>[Mark Bartlett 09/09/2013]](/images/44000/44765.jpg "Glion")

![The Territet Funicular in Montreux was recently refurbished but one of the old cars has been preserved at the lower station alongside its modern (and much smaller) replacement. The outer wheels of the cars have double flanges to guide them whereas the inner wheels are flangeless allowing them to pass over the cables and points at the midway loop.
