Also in view is the eastern end of the WD&HO Wills cigarette factory, the main module of which still stands, having been converted into luxury flats after closure. Seen here is LBSCR Terrier 0-6-0T no 82 Boxhill, while nearby were SE&CR D class 4-4-0 no 31737 and LSWR T3 4-4-0 no 563. The locomotives spent approximately a year here from July 1958. ![4472 <I>Flying Scotsman</I> runs north through Tweedmouth station on 9 May 1964 with <I>Pegler's Pullman</I> en route from Doncaster to Edinburgh. Tweeedmouth shed (52D) can be seen in the rear right of the photograph. The locomotive spent the following 9 days in Scotland on railtour duty and returned south light engine on 18 May. It was during this visit that the initial work on the Terence Cuneo painting of 4472 on the Forth Bridge was undertaken. <br>

![Class 46 no 139 leaves Berwick on 12 September 1970 and runs onto the Royal Border Bridge with train 1E03, the 08.08 Edinburgh - Newcastle semi-fast, conveying mail, parcels and passengers. Besides calling at Drem and Dunbar this train also stopped at the Northumberland stations (excepting Pegswood) between Berwick and Morpeth, from where it had a fast run into Newcastle.<br>

![EE Type 4 No. 276 passes between Tweedmouth Yard and the closed MPD with the 11:50 Aberdeen to Kings Cross Freightliner on 19 September 1970. ![By 1970, builder's merchants J T Dove Ltd had put their stamp on the roundhouse at Tweedmouth, with a new entrance formed through the north wall and a large sign proclaiming ownership. ![With only four Mk 1 coaches and a Southern Railway PMV in tow, Brush Type 4 No. 1513 is already making good speed following the Berwick stop as it passes through Tweedmouth in 1970. ![View south at Morpeth station on the ECML on a May afternoon in 2004. Visible just beyond the attractive station buildings on the up platform is the start of the infamous <I>Morpeth Curve</I>, the most severe curve (17 chains (340 m) radius) on any main line in Britain, turning through almost 90 degrees immediately south of the Station. The curve has been the scene of three major derailments over the years. ![In 1878 a goods line was completed linking the yard on the east side of the ECML at Tweedmouth station with the recently opened Tweed Dock. The steeply graded zig-zag route was eventually closed during the 1960s and most of the former branch is now a public walkway. The most significant surviving structure is a viaduct which now forms part of that walkway, seen here in October 2012 looking north west along Dock Road. This scene in 2012 is no different - other than for Lancashire read Northumberland and for 'dark satanic mill' read Tweedmouth shed.
