Lyness Submarine Base

![Although most of the massive former Royal Naval base at Scapa Flow, Orkney, has been demolished since World War II, there is a visitors <I>Interpretation Centre</I> located at Lyness on the island of Hoy. The photograph, taken in August 2006, shows part of the Lyness centre and various exhibits, including wagons that were once used to transport supplies and equipment around the base on the internal military railway system.<br><br>[Brian Smith 27/08/2006]](/images/26000/26967.jpg "Lyness")
