![The first <I>Horwich Crab</I> 2-6-0, 42700, has recently been cosmetically restored in LMS Maroon livery as LMS No. 13000 and placed on display at NRM Shildon. For many years the loco was a 26D Bury engine and it is seen here only three years after withdrawal, at a KWVR open day in Haworth yard. ![Just over two years after its acquisition by the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, ex Swedish State Railways WD 2-8-0 No. 1931 heads an afternoon train up the valley between Haworth and Oxenhope, thought to be on a Sunday in July 1975. ![Ex-Swedish State Railways no 1931 at Haworth yard in 1976. Built at the Vulcan Foundry in 1945 (works no 5200) the locomotive had originally worked in the Netherlands before moving to Sweden. ![Once taken over by the KWVR the former goods yard at Haworth became a hive of activity on Sundays, as seen here. Fowler 4F No. 43924, one of the first Barry scrapyard escapees, is perhaps of less interest to some than JKY 912F, an Austin A55 van (or is it the Morris badged version?), which presumably has not survived. ![KWVR 0-6-0ST <I>Fred</I>, built as RSH 7289/1945 and employed prior to preservation by the NCB at Walkden and Leigh collieries. The loco, which had been modified with a gas producer combustion system (including a very distinctive chimney) in 1963, was initially preserved on the KWVR where it is seen working uphill between Mytholmes Viaduct and Tunnel with a motley collection of coaches in March 1976. ![BR Standard class 4 tank no 80002 runs round its train at Oxenhope station on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway on 3 May 2010. The last time I had seen 80002 in steam was at Cowlairs on 24 February 1968 when it was in use as a carriage heating loco. Today it still sports a 66A shedplate, has 'Polmadie' on the buffer beam and the number plate has a BR (ScR) blue background.<br>

![With the recent news that Class 380s have some problems, perhaps <br>
First ScotRail could consider drafting in some other '80s' to fill the gap in the December timetable. Standard class 4 2-6-4T no 80002 is no stranger to the Glasgow area and I am sure would feel quite at home again on Polmadie depot. Here however it is seen in the Damems passing loop on the KWVR hauling the 1505 hrs express service from Keighley to Oxenhope on 9 October 2010.<br>

![A few rounds of Ayrshire (Killoch) coal are expertly placed in the firebox of Midland 4F 43924 by KWVR Fireman Ross Graham. With the loco climbing through the Worth Valley the fire is near white hot. ![A new angle on Keighley station. 43924 has just brought the first train of the day down from Oxenhope and has left the coaches in the platform to run round. This is the view back towards the station. The tracks on the left are the electrified Leeds to Skipton lines, with an EMU just visible on the eastbound platform. ![Early morning steam raising in the KWVR yard at Haworth sees Midland 4F 0-6-0 43924 over the inspection/ash pit on 7 January 2012. It sports an 82E Bristol Barrow Road shed plate, where it spent several years, but its final shed was Gloucester. This led to it ending up in Woodham's scrap yard at Barry and its main claim to fame is that it was the first locomotive to be rescued from there, over forty years ago. It has been a regular performer on the KWVR over many years and returned to service again in 2011 after another overhaul. ![Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0DM D2511 at Oxenhope on 28 April 2013. Introduced as BR Class D2/12 the locomotive went to Barrow in Furness new in August 1961. It was withdrawn from there just over 6 years later in December 1967.
