![On 22 April 2017, the 13.43 service from Barnstaple to Exeter and Exmouth halts briefly at Crediton signal box to return the single-line token from Eggesford to Crediton to the signaller. The single line from Barnstaple to Crediton - originally engineered for double-track throughout, but never fully doubled - now has just one passenger loop, at Eggesford, where drivers exchange tokens with the signaller from platform cabins, using the 'No Signaller Token Remote' system, which is low-cost but time-consuming.<br><br>[David Spaven 22/04/2017]](/images/59000/59310.jpg "Crediton")
![The 13.43 service from Barnstaple to Exeter and Exmouth waits to cross the 13.53 from Exmouth at Crediton station and loop on 22 April 2017. The attractive station buildings have recently been repainted in London & South Western Railway colours. From here to Cowley Bridge Junction in Exeter the line is controlled by Track Circuit Block.
