Dalwhinnie: Courtesy of the Highland Main Line CRP, here is a photo of the renewed 'Monty' plaque at Dalwhinnie, mounted on Dalwhinnie Distillery cask staves, a very fine piece of work by a local.
Troon: Progress with the new building on the up platform at Troon.
Stepends Junction: A view of the site of the sinkhole between Plains and Caldercruix showing the bridge over the A89 on the left and bridge over the North Calder to the right. The view looks south. There were sidings on the south side of the line.
Stirling South Shed: Probably taken in August 1961, this photo (possibly my first colour one), shows the much travelled Caley 0-4-4T No. 55124 continuing its journey round Scotland with a short visit to Stirling shed.
Long Rock Depot: As at Inverness, a shunter is retained at Penzance to, among other things, shunt the sleeper stock. 08645 is the incumbent in 2024 and has been named 'St Piran' after the patron saint of Cornwall, and painted with the Cornish flag of a white cross on a black background. Bay Horse: Colas 56105 and 56049 double heading the Carlisle to Chirk logs through Forton cutting on 12th March 2024.
Bay Horse: As a change from the more usual grubby Class 70, grubby 56105 and 56049 'Robin of Templecombe 1938 - 2013' power the Carlisle to Chirk logs through the cutting at Forton on 12th March 2024.
Partickhill: The bridge between the old Partickhill station and the site of what is now Partick, on the electrified Glasgow North Side suburban line, was replaced early in the 1970s. Here a section of the old girders is being 'unloaded' on to Dumbarton Road.
Carstairs: 47725 passes Carstairs, with the delivery run of a class 334 in 2001.
