Kilwinning to Ardrossan

This is a four platform station with two platforms on the Ardrossan Harbour / Largs branch and two platforms on the line south to Ayr. There was an extensive goods yard on the west side, approached from the north, but this is reduced to a pair of civil engineer sidings.

This is a two platform station with original station buildings on both the up and down platforms. The main building, a long single storey building in red sandstone on the Glasgow bound platform, dates from 1894. It is fitted with a full length glazed canopy.

This is a two platform station. The original station buildings have not survived. The building on the up platform, dating from 1900, was of a style still represented by West Kilbride, although slightly different.

This is a single platform station. There are, however, two lines. The line nearest the platform is used in both directions by Glasgow Central - Largs trains. The same line was used by freight going north to the Hunterston Ore Terminal. The other line was used by southbound trains coming from Hunterston only.

This is a single platform station with a car park in the south of the village of Fairlie. From 1880 to 1882 it was the terminus of the line before it was extended to Fairlie Pier.

This is a two platform terminus station which, just to the south, continues as a single track to Fairlie. There is a small, modern, glazed station building on the east side. The station opened in 1885, with the extension of the line north from Fairlie Pier Junction.
