This is a three platform station to the south west of Glasgow. One platform, on the north side, is a bay platform for Glasgow. It enjoys a commuter service to Glasgow Central and is also served by longer distance trains between Glasgow and Carlisle. A signal box still stands to the east of the station.

This is a two platform station. To the west is a signal box on the north side of the line. The main station building was at the west end of the westbound platform and a traditional basic waiting room was on the eastbound platform. Both have not survived having been demolished in the late 1990s. The platforms have glazed waiting shelters.
