Porterbrook buys more trains from Bombardier [Rail News]

Date: 02/11/2015

Rolling stock company (ROSCO) Porterbrook Leasing has announced that it will purchase an additional 80 Class 387 vehicles from Bombardier. This deal is in addition to the 256 vehicles in this class already on order. Delivery from Bombardiers Derby factory will take place between October 2016 and June 2017. While the earlier order is for four-car sets, 29 for Thameslink, 27 for Gatwick Express and eight for Great Western, Porterbrook have not yet released how the new cars will be used. So they could be 20 new four-car trains, or they could be used in longer consists or even to add cars to existing trains. [From Richard Buckby]
