Description

This junction was south of Aberdeen Guild Street. From this junction the Denburn Valley Line ran through Aberdeen Joint (today's Aberdeen station) leaving the original Aberdeen Guild Street terminus on a short branch.

The junction opened as Denburn Junction in 1867 with the Denburn Valley line.

In 1896 the signal box was replaced. There was increasing long distance and suburban traffic.

Around 1907 it became Denburn South Junction.

In 1914 both Aberdeen Joint and Aberdeen Guild Street Goods were substantially rebuilt and the line south widened considerably from the double track it had been.

The box was replaced with Aberdeen South Signal Box in 1947.
