Dalgety Bay: D213 'Andania' leads the Steam Dreams' 'Forth Bridge Lunchtime Tour' through Dalgety Bay on 25 November 2023, replacing failed 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley'. D1924 is on the rear.
Carlisle: Rolling through Siding A at Carlisle, 66426 is not far from home at Kingmoor, which it left approximately 11 hours previously on a railhead treatment duty which took it to Acklington and Nunthorpe via the East Coast Main Line and Teeside. On the rear is 68022 'Resolution'.
Filey: The RHTT service from York via Scarborough heads away towards Hull at Filey on 24 November 2023. 170455 arrives on a Sheffield to Scarborough service. Nice cafe here at Filey Station.
Headbolt Lane: Merseyrail 3rd Rail & Battery powered Hybrid BEMU 777148, seen after arrival at Headbolt Lane at 14.28, with the 14.05 service ex Liverpool Central that I had boarded at Kirkdale. I was chatting to the conductor when there was a loud noise from below the carriage around Fazakerley, which he said was from the collector shoes retracting and the unit changing over to Battery power for the rest of the journey through to Headbolt Lane.
Barrow Road Crossing Junction: The signal box at Barrow Road, New Holland, seen in 2010.
Sheerness-on-Sea: LMS Jubilee no. 45596 'Bahamas' (1934) at Sheerness-on-Sea during a leg stretch stop at the Isle of Sheppey branch terminus of the Railway Touring Company's 'The Armistice Kentish Belle' excursion, at 12.51 on Saturday, 11th November 2023. The train had reversed at Strood and was hauled to Sheerness by 47746 to the disappointment of those waiting at the terminus, hoping to see the steam locomotive bring the train into the station. This view is at the far end of platform 1 so it was impossible to get any 'full-on' photos, either here or from the opposite platform 2.
Hunterston Low Level Sidings: August 1981 with the BLS 'Ayrshire Wanderer' railtour during a photo stop at Hunterston Low Level Sidings.
Aboyne Tunnel: Looking westwards from the road that now bisects the Aboyne station site in October 2023. Compared to image [[55596]] from 1997 the tunnel under the main road has been converted into a lock up facility.

Bodmin Road: A wet day at Bodmin Road in October 1968, with a view of the signalbox on the Down platform. The signal box closed when the Wenfordbridge line was closed. It survives as a cafe now, or did the last time I was down here.
Colinton Tunnel: A lone walker about to enter the east portal of Colinton Tunnel in April 2018. The single bore 150 yard long gently curved tunnel on the former Balerno branch is now part of the Water of Leith Walkway. Since the time of the photograph it has been adorned with a mural throughout its length.
Edinburgh Waverley: 4498 (60007) 'Sir Nigel Gresley' waits to leave Waverley with the 'Tyne Dee Coastal' on 22 June 1974. As I was submitting this picture the same loco was approaching Edinburgh again, with an excursion from Kings Cross that it had hauled from York on Thursday 23 November 2023. Unfortunately, its planned use on a 'Forth Circular' tour two days later was halted by a failure and it was replaced by D213 'Andania'.

West Hampstead [Met]: Exterior of West Hampstead station, opened by the Metropolitan Railway in 1879, transferred to the Bakerloo Line in 1939 and then to the Jubilee Line in 1979, seen from a preserved pre-1963 Routemaster bus RM 545 from Camden Town to Golders Green, during a vintage London bus running day to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the closure of Chalk Farm Garage, on the morning of Sunday, 5th November 2023. This is one of three separate stations on West End Lane, all within hailing distance of each other.
Newport-on-Tay East: A 2 car Gloucester DMU waits at Newport-on-Tay East to return to Dundee on a sunny day in April 1968. Passenger services over the branch ended on 05/05/1969. Despite the presence of the signal on the former up platform the signal box had closed in December 1967 with the line worked as one engine in steam. The roof of the signal box can be seen behind the train and in contrast to the station was named East Newport.
Ballater: Ballater, gleaming in the autumn sunshine on 23rd October 2023. What a superb job has been made of restoring the station after the disastrous 2015 fire.
