Tiverton Junction: The fine signal box at Tiverton Junction, which was on the up platform. This station was closed in May 1986 and replaced by Tiverton Parkway, built near the M5. Exeter Panel now controls this area and has done since the mid 1980s.

Roslin: The EL&R station at Roslin lost its passenger service in 1933, although the line continued in use until the late 1960s latterly serving the local colliery and brickworks half a mile beyond. No trace remains of the former station, the site of which is now occupied by housing. At the west end of the station the line passed below this bridge carrying Main Street, seen here in its later 'reinforced' form looking north in April 2014, with the old station site to the right.

Euston: 378234 on siding at Euston, seen from departing 13.06 LNWR service to Milton Keynes Central, on Saturday, 28th October 2023. There were no London Overground services from Euston on this day, due to engineering works. Friends and I were going to a matinee performance of an Agatha Christie play at a theatre near to Watford High Street station but had to go to Watford Junction first and then get back down to the High Street on a replacement bus service.

Beet Factory Signal Box: Beet Factory signal box controlled the access to and from Scotland's only sugar beet factory at Cupar. The factory itself closed at the end of the 1971 season although the box remained open until 1st April 1973. A chance sighting from a Dundee - Edinburgh train in 1971 of the resident pug in steam, and a quick exit at Cupar, was my only visit to this location. The 0-4-0ST, AB1863/26, was delivered new to Cupar and the last I heard it was at The Caledonian Railway Brechin.

Barry: Swindon built Standard Class 4 4-6-0 75078 is seen on the Hood Road reception siding at Barry, shortly after arrival in October 1966, following withdrawal from service. It did not stay in the Woodham's scrapyard for too many years before being moved to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in 1972, where it entered service in 1977. It re-entered service in October 2022 after the latest 10 year overhaul.

Croston: A view of the Friends of Croston Station 2023 Remembrance Day homage to those who were lost in conflict, but which could also remember the long term Railscot contributor John McIntyre, who we lost on Boxing Day in 2022. John was also an active member of FOCS.

Alloa: A ScotRail 158 DMU waits at the buffer stops at Alloa station on 26 April 2018. The passenger information display shows the train to be the 1041 service to Glasgow Queen Street. Electrification work is noticeably well advanced at this point in time with the first scheduled electric services getting underway in early December that year.
