Oxford: Chiltern 168001 arriving in Oxford from London Marylebone. These were the old LNWR/LMSR platforms and used as a parcels siding until Chiltern Railways upgraded the line.

Pontypool Crane Street: This rather run down building was formerly the Lower Race wagon works, adjacent to the Pontypool to Neath line just West of Clarence Street station. When I lived in Wales, this was a good value car scrapyard. Going by the screens bolted onto the skips, there is something very hush-hush going on there now; or at least when I took this picture in 2014.

Filey Holiday Camp: Leaving platform 2 at Filey Holiday Camp station on 27 August 1977, with the route set for Royal Oak South Junction thence the Yorkshire Coast line to Hull. This was the station's final summer season and a significant amount of track lifting had already taken place (see image [[32264]]). This included the lines serving platforms 3 & 4 which had been out of use since 1974. The last scheduled departure took place one week later on Saturday 3 September 1977 when train 1M48 left as the 1240 (SO) to Leicester.

Edinburgh Waverley: A Saturday morning service for North Berwick prepares to depart Waverley's Platform 7 on 26 September 2020. Neighbouring newish Platforms 5 and 6 are now so much part of the scene that it is hard to remember what it was like before. Always the way, I suppose.

Brent Cross: Brent Cross, LUL Northern Line, looking north towards Edgware on 26th August 2020. On the left is the formation of the former loop (with a similar one on the southbound side) which in early days allowed semi-fast trains to overtake here. These semi-fasts ceased around the time the LPTB was formed in 1933 and the tracks were removed. Highfield Avenue bridge immediately south of the station still demonstrates the wider line at this location but then narrows down to a two-track railway.
