Bettws-y-Coed Branch (London and North Western Railway)


The apparently rural setting of Llanrwst station is actually close to the town centre. The station opened in 1989 and is seen here on 16th October 2017, the day after hurricane Ophelia had caused flooding and damage to the Ffestiniog Tunnel through which 150242 will be passing on its way to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Blaenau Festiniog Branch (London and North Western Railway)


A Llandudno - Blaenau Ffestiniog service leaving Roman Bridge on 10th April 2015. This station is of very similar construction to Pont-y-Pant (two stops along the line towards Llandudno junction) and until recently was available for self catering holidays. [Colin McDonald]

Brecon and Merthyr Railway


With a name which must be pronounced carefully and a challenging climate, the residents of this village had quite enough to cope with before their station was closed to passengers in 1962 and goods in 1964. There was a goods yard to the right of the platform, and a station ... [Ken Strachan]
