Shildon

UK Railtours excursion from King's Cross now arrived at Shildon, one hour and eleven minutes late on 11th May 2019. Scheduled time had been 1219 with a departure at 1430 for the Weardale Railway to Stanhope, allowing more than two hours to visit Locomotion. This was much cut down although the train was granted an extra 15 minutes by not departing until 1445. However, the front two and rear two carriages could not fit in the short platform at Shildon so those passengers had to walk through the train to alight. That took about 10 minutes, cutting down even further the time there for those unfortunate passengers of which I was one.
