Longridge (Lancashire)

For a structure built to carry the horse tramway to Lord's Quarry over a minor track this is a very substantial and well built bridge. However, the Preston and Longridge Railway was built to get stone from the Longridge quarries that was used to build fine civic buildings in Preston (Harris Museum, Law Courts) so this may have something to do with it. A century after it carried its last stone train the bridge still stands in the public park that now occupies part of the quarry site.
