Edinburgh Waverley

Looking west from the end of the new 'Balmoral' through platform at Waverley on 28 December 2007. Much of the north side had been cleaned up and re-ballasted on the run up to Christmas, with the majority of platform 'furnishings and fittings' also installed. In the background work continues on electrification of the remaining west end platforms as well as the central and south Mound tunnels. The train emerging from the north tunnel and heading this way is First ScotRail 158740 forming the 1225 Bathgate - Newcraighall.
