Lancaster

Bridge Road and Brunton Road in Lancaster, formerly crossed by an additional line leading to the old L&PJ station at Lancaster Greaves. The L&NWR built a two road engine shed and turntable in the fork between the two lines which was open from 1875 to 1934. In the trees on the left are traces of floor tiles and other remnants from the old depot. The grass bank near the surviving bridge is now a good vantage point for watching trains departing Lancaster See image 35365. 17th October 2017. [Ref query 30 October 2017]
